Why We Built This Site
Maryland provides public access to many court records, but Somerset County records do not all live in one system. Case Search gives public summaries for Circuit Court and District Court cases. The Clerk of the Circuit Court keeps complete Circuit Court files, land records, marriage licenses, business licenses, and notary records. The District Court handles traffic, landlord-tenant, misdemeanor, certain felony, and smaller civil matters. Probate estates are handled through the Orphans' Court and Register of Wills. Sheriff and jail records follow a separate law-enforcement path.

This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Maryland court, clerk's office, sheriff's office, Register of Wills, or state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:

- We cannot issue certified copies of any court document, estate record, marriage record, or vital record
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific Somerset County case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, address, or office procedure listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
